//  CREATIVE PROGRAM MANAGER BARNET

 

LOCATION: Barnet, London

HOURS: 2 days per week (9 Month Contract)

SALARY: Freelance day rate – £150 per day.

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

Creative Collaborations is one of ART AGAINST KNIVES 4 main programmes, in which we deliver a series of one-off creative events or workshops designed to engage with hard to reach young people in areas of high deprivation. Projects are designed with young people and their communities and in the past provision has included

skills training, creative thinking, group discussion. We have worked in collaboration with brands such as DC Shoes, Gola, and Universal Music to facilitate unique, engaging showcase opportunities for participants.

We are currently launching a new Creative Collaborations programme in Barnet and are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and innovative project manager. Candidates must be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and keen to develop a career within the sector.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Engage with relevant local stakeholders and build relationships with young people and their communities, Which includes the design and delivery of creative engagement methods, and representing AAK to local authorities and service providers and attending boards, meetings, and committees as necessary.

  • Work with AAK Creative Director  to design, plan, and develop 2 creative projects per year.

  • To implement and manage agreed projects in line with agreed project outlines, which includes being responsible for managing project staff and budgets.

  • Review and adapt monitoring and evaluation methods, building on ART AGAINST KNIVES current evaluation frameworks and systems.

  • Continue to build and develop existing database of relevant local support services in the borough. Ensure that all issues concerning the safety and welfare of children and young people who attend the projects are properly dealt with through policies, procedures and administrative systems.

  • Report regularly to the the senior management team and attend meetings and training sessions as requested.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE…

  • Extensive experience in working with young people from disadvantaged and challenging communities.

  • Confident in managing relationships with local authorities.

  • Previous experience of working on programmes with a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Excellent project management skills and experience in managing budgets.

  • Ability to think and plan strategically.

  • An understanding and willingness to develop and manage monitoring and evaluations of projects / programmes.

  • Be familiar with, and have experience of, working with local inter-agency child protection procedures and safeguarding children’s boards.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise a wide-range of responsibilities to achieve agreed deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently to high standards of consistency and accuracy.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Commitment to and understanding of ART AGAINST KNIVES’ aims and values

  • High level of literacy and IT competency.

//  CREATIVE DIRECTOR’S ASSISTANT

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

A motivated individual with an interest in ART AGAINST KNIVES and passionate about supporting the young people that we work with. You should have strong administration, literacy, and IT skills. Organisational ability is essential,  and an ambition to develop a career within the sector is desirable. Hours are flexible, approximately 3 days per week during office hours. Based at Tottenham Court Road.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE…

  • Support the design, delivery, and organisation of youth project programme.

  • Be responsible for admin tasks such as maintaining databases, and collating information.

  • Help research, manage, and run fundraising events and activities.

  • Conduct research into relevant organisations and services to support our charitable activities.

  • Produce letters, take minutes, format reports and other communications materials.

  • Work closely with Creative Director and ART AGAINST KNIVES staff to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.

//  IN YOUR HANDS PROGRAMME VOLUNTEERS

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

We are looking for enthusiastic and volunteers, preferably with a creative background who can donate 4 hours per week (3-7 pm Mondays and/or Tuesdays). You must be able to engage and relate to young females and have an understanding of the risks and challenges that they face. We are particularly interested in those passionate about child development and women’s issues. Projects based in Barnet

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE…

  • Participate in the delivery of weekly Nail Bar projects.

  • Support youth workers in preparing space / maintaining a safe environment

  • Work with young women affected by violent crime offering mentoring, support skills development, and help them to prepare for employment.

  • Help run pop- up nail bar events.

  • Be a practice ‘client’ for nail painting / paint nails!

// COMMUNICATIONS DESIGNER

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

 We are looking for a volunteer to help us to design materials to inform supporters of our charitable activities. This will include blog content, a quarterly newsletter, social media content, and press releases. Candidates must have experience using design programmes to a professional standard, and copy-writing ability. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative designer to expand their portfolio and support the work of a high-profile small charity. Hours are flexible (equivalent of 2 days per week)

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE…

  • Work with the management team to establish a communications strategy ensuring marketing/communication media is aligned.

  • Be responsible for the design of external media.

  • Input on the planning of campaigns/marketing activities in line with strategy.

  • Design individual branding for existing and new youth projects and fundraising events.

// EVALUATION AND MONITORING OFFICER

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

We are looking for candidates keen to build up their industry experience whilst supporting a growing creative charity in achieving its objectives. An ability to effectively communicate with young people and a passion and interest in the work that ART AGAINST KNIVES achieves and the charities values are essential. We are keen to support volunteers in their own personal development and are open to specific project proposals which target research topics / dissertations. Hours flexible.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE…

  • Support ART AGAINST KNIVES in achieving accredited evaluation systems (Project Oracle / London Youth)

  • Setting up and introducing Case Outcome Recording System (CORS) software.

  • Inform the design of monitoring and evaluation processes for future youth projects.

  • Assist in project managing evidence gathering, analysis, reporting and communicating on youth projects.

  • Support the identification of data gaps, and data opportunities, consult on the effectiveness of current methods.

  • Work alongside the Creative Director to design and implement innovative, creative methods of including young people in the monitoring processes.

A motivated individual with an interest in ART AGAINST KNIVES and the young people that we support. Experience of working with Sage is essential. Finance experience working within a charity is desirable. Hours are flexible, approximately half a day per week during office hours.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE…

  • Supporting the Managing Director in setting up and developing sage accounting software.

  • To work alongside ART AGAINST KNIVES financial advisor to embed system and develop reporting systems.

  • To oversee the production of financial reports for board meetings and external organisations.

  • To input and maintain financial records.
